In Germany, Alice is kidnapped by unknown men and rescued by an enigmatic waiter with a mysterious past. As they are forced to flee and hide she must decide if these thugs were hired by her vindictive ex-husband... and exactly on whose side the mysterious waiter truly is. She really needs to decide before she gives her heart as unwisely as she did the first time... hopefully she will long enough.
Excerpt from Episode One
For a woman to walk alone at night in a foreign city is not a particularly good idea, especially when you’re lost. Not that Alice had planned it; no, when Jeanine said she had to leave to meet her date she had assured her that she could easily get back to the hotel herself. After all, it was only a couple of blocks away and Alice was a grown woman, after all... so grown that she was much closer to 40 than she ever wanted to be.
Jeanine was her oldest friend and had insisted on her accompanying her on her business trip to Stuttgart. The Christmas market was open, she said, and it would help take Alice’s mind off of things.
Yeah. Like anything could.
Well, walking down a darkened street lined with closed shops and very little light came pretty close, but what really commandeered Alice’s attention was the sound of footsteps behind her. Even that paled, though, when a hand reached out and grabbed her arm, dragging her to a stop.
